How wind resistance works

Wind trainers generate resistance by spinning a bladed disk or fan through the air. Resistance is progressive, and follows a similar curve to our fluid trainers. The Kinetic Cyclone’s dual fan design offers smooth, road-like resistance and lasting durability. Each fan is individually precision-balanced, to ensure smooth operation.

The flywheel on a trainer simulates the momentum of the bike and rider, increasing the effort needed to accelerate and maintaining speed when coasting. At 2.2 lbs. (1 kg) each the fan/flywheels on the Cyclone are heavier than those of competitive wind trainers, providing a more realistic ride.

The Cyclone is the lightest resistance unit produced by Kinetic, making it easier to transport and a great option for pre-race warm-up.
