Crank Armstrong is a Brute!

Using the Crank Armstrong testing robot, Kinetic engineers test the limits of bike trainers and ensure the durability, quality control and power-output accuracy of everything we produce.

Crank has been at the core of the Kinetic product testing team for well over a decade. He's powered by a Dayton 3 HP electric motor driving through a Boston 10 to 1 gear reducer connected to the non-chaining side of the bicycle bottom bracket.

Running extended testing in order to create and validate a power curve is no problem with this unit. The venerable old steel bike at the core of Crank even received updated components recently and gets a new drive train every few months to keep running smoothly!
