Kinetic “Unbundles” its inRide Watt Meter

Announces à la carte pricing for key components

Minneapolis, USA, January 27, 2014 – Kinetic, a leader in precision cycle trainers, announced a new pricing structure for its inRide Watt Meter and Bluetooth Smart™ Heart Rate Strap. The items were previously sold together, but are now also available as two separately packaged products.

“We’re listening to our customers,” explained Jason Overman, Kinetic’s North American sales manager. “Quite a few already have heart rate straps, offering the inRide pod separately saves them money and eliminates the redundancy of purchasing a second one. As for customers who only want a heart rate strap, ours is a great option that is compatible with inRide and over 50 different fitness Apps.”

Thanks to the change, Kinetic’s suggested retail price for the “pod-only” version of its inRide Watt Meter has dropped to $159. The Kinetic Bluetooth Smart™ Heart Rate Strap has a suggested retail of $70. Bundled price for the pod and strap is $229.

“The packaging change makes it easier for distributors and retailers to sell inRide, and provides consumers a convenient value option,” Overman continued.

Kinetic inRide, which is compatible with all Kinetic fluid trainers, debuted in 2012 as the world’s first Bluetooth Smart™ trainer-based watt meter system. The inRide app has five different data screens, allowing riders to focus on wattage or heart rate with features such as time-in-zone measurement, programmable rider data, calorie burn, and ride history.

The Kinetic Bluetooth 4.0 Heart Rate Strap wirelessly pairs with the free Kinetic inRide App, as well as any of over 50 popular fitness Apps, including Strava and MapMyRide, to measure heart rate.

Both products are available for iPhone 4S, 5 series, iPad 3, 4, Mini, and the iPod Touch 5th generation. The new pricing and packaging is effective immediately and both items are available in stock.
