Troupe Racing

Troupe Racing Company is a small, close-knit group based in Southern California. Our team is created with a nod back to mountain biking’s glory days of small teams that traveled the country in search of the prefect course. (We believe, by the way, that these days are on their way back). We aim to resurrect the idea that riding on a team means something to it’s riders – its something to be proud of above and beyond any small shop discount that might be offered.

Along the way, we’ve met some great people who happen to be good riders. To them, we’ve extended a cycling gloved hand of support and asked them to join us. We’ve grown our team slowly, carefully, and selectively. We believe that any new rider to the team must reflect the ideas that we built the original crew on.

Our riders like to hurt. We like training intervals, long rides at threshold, hill repeats, and the long weekends of base miles on the road or on the dirt (we prefer dirt, naturally). We thrive on the sweet anticipation of a big race, the early morning rise for a group ride, and turning on the lights for a night session.

VeloShine Cycling Team

The 2012 VeloShine Cycling Team is comprised of some of the fastest and most experienced racers in the southeast. The team boasts several multi-time state and national champions at the elite and masters levels. In 2012, the team will focus on Road Racing and Cyclocross events in the southeast as well as several national NRC events, including the Elite, Masters and U23 National Championships. Rich Hincapie founded the team in 2000 as the Hincapie Sportswear Cycling team. Hincapie Sportswear has been the team’s custom cycling clothing and accessories supplier since 2002.

In 2006, a Women’s Elite Team was added, and over the past decade the team has evolved into one of the strongest, most respected programs in the Southeast. Since its establishment, the team has won 13 National Championships, 1 Masters World Championship and over 140 State Championships along with countless other regional victories, NRC results and international wins.

Although competition is at the core of the team’s activity, we believe that we have a greater role to play in the development of cycling. Over the years we have focused on developing promising Junior and Under 23 riders. Chris Monteleone began as a junior on the team at age 15 and now rides for Smart Stop Pro Cycling Team, while Craig Lewis started on the team in 2001 and now rides on the Pro Tour. Most recently Andrew Meyer was called up to race professionally on the BMC - Hincapie Sportswear Pro Cycling Team.

We believe increasing the visibility of cycling in the community and growing the sport is as important as grooming the next generation of cyclists. To these ends, we organize, support, and participate in a large number of group rides and charity rides for riders of all levels.
